The "digital trucker" service, which will help track the movement of cargo, monitor the installation of the trailer, change the driver, as well as the final unloading, is planned to be launched in Russia in 2021, an official representative of the NTI "Avtonet" told TASS" Yaroslav Fedoseyev.

The service will be configured for the technology of continuous movement of the trailer with a change of drivers and tractors. This method will help you transport cargo 45% faster. It is assumed that at the first mile, trucks pick up cargo from the sender's warehouse on the principle of " Yandex.Taxi". Then the cargo is intercepted every 350 km by a new driver. After transporting the cargo to the transfer point, the driver returns to the original locality.

"Digital trucker technology will reduce the time of cargo transportation by reducing the driver's rest time on the route. In other words, they will still have the opportunity to rest after passing their segment of the route, but these costs will not be included in the cost of transportation. At the moment, almost 100% of cargo transport worldwide is connected to various telematics systems that allow you to transmit data about each step of the truck. In General, this will reduce not only the transportation time, but also the working time of the driver, who will be able to return to the base and take the next order, " said Fedoseyev.

According to him, the service is currently undergoing cloud testing and will be ready for implementation in 2021.

The technology will also help customers not only transport cargo faster, but also save money. "The main factor in reducing the cost is hiring drivers from the regions. Long-distance transport starts in the Central region and goes to the periphery. If there is only one driver, then you need to hire them in the Moscow region, hence the shortage of drivers and high wages. With Shuttle transport, drivers live along the route, and the average salary is reduced, " Fedoseyev explained.

The new service will only work with a constant cargo flow. "This is achieved through the Avtodata platform, which will collect data, process it and generate optimal loading, which will reduce the cost," said the representative of Avtonet.
