However, no matter how well we treat and care for them, as with any other device, the useful life of household appliances is limited. • Refrigerator . The average useful life of a refrigerator extends for more than 12 years. If you want to squeeze its duration, keep the temperature between 4 and 5 ºC, clean the dust from the coil from time to time so that the motor does not overheat, do not overfill the refrigerator and try not to open the doors constantly. According to the OCU, the most durable brands are Miele, Zanussi and Thomsom.
• Dishwasher . The dishwasher also usually an average of 11 years. To get the most out of it and extend its useful life, avoid excess detergent, clean it every 30 washes and descale once a year. The OCU study determines that the brands that last the longest are Miele, Zanussi and Siemens.
• Washing machine . A current washing machine lasts for more than 11 years. You can extend its useful life by avoiding excess detergent in the washes, taking care of the rubbers and cleaning them often, descaling every six months, cleaning the filter regularly and letting the humidity dry to prevent the appearance of mold. The most durable brands according to the study are Miele, Siemens and AEG.
• Dryer . This appliance has an average life of 11 years. To prolong its life, do not overload the dryer, make sure it is level and clean the lint filter after each use.
